Nigerian singer Dammy Krane has recently reignited a feud with his colleague Davido, creating a buzz across social media. The conflict, which began in October 2023, stems from claims that Davido owes Dammy Krane $500,000 for songwriting contributions to their hit song “Pere.”

In a petition to the Inspector General of Police, Dammy Krane accused Davido of refusing to settle the debt, in addition to alleging that Davido sabotaged his record deal with Sony Music.

The situation escalated further when Dammy Krane claimed that Davido and his allies have made threats against his life, which he believes is connected to his demand for the unpaid money.

He also called for the re-opening of the investigation into the death of their mutual friend Tagbo Umeike, whose passing in 2017 was initially linked to alcohol poisoning. Krane has suggested Davido’s involvement in the incident, intensifying the accusations between the two artists.

Adding to the tension, Dammy Krane was arrested in August 2024, which he claims was orchestrated by Davido. The arrest was linked to allegations involving scams related to cryptocurrency and the fintech platform Flutterwave, though Krane was released after six days in detention.

While Dammy Krane remains adamant about his claims, Davido has refuted all accusations, dismissing them as attempts to defame his character. He has previously described Krane as “ungrateful,” emphasizing that he provided shelter and support to him during difficult times. Davido has also threatened to sue Krane for defamation and cyberbullying, further complicating the issue.

The dispute continues, with fans and observers weighing in on social media. While some express support for Dammy Krane, others accuse him of seeking attention by targeting a more influential figure like Davido.
