Miranda Priestley Would Approve Best Dressed Celebs at “The Devil Wears Prada 2” Premiere

The Lagos premiere of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” on April 29 delivered a fashion spectacle worthy of Miranda Priestley herself. Held at Filmhouse IMAX Lekki ahead of the film’s worldwide cinema release on May 1, the event brought out celebrities who stepped out in sharp, fashion-forward looks inspired by the franchise’s enduring style influence.

Mimi Yina

Mimi Yina opted for a sharply tailored look. She wore a structured double-breasted blazer dress with peak lapels. The waist was cinched with a wide black leather Gucci GG Marmont belt. Her accessories were minimal. Mimi paired her outfit with dark sunglasses and silver earrings, and carried a rectangular clutch with red-and-white details. She wore a pair of black pointed-toe stiletto pumps with metallic crystal toe caps.

Diana Eneje

Diana Eneje appeared in a long-sleeved, sheer black mesh maxi dress with a plunging V-neckline and white pointed collar. The gown featured designed faux fur trim at the cuffs and paired with a matching black bralette and high-waisted briefs underneath. She paired the look with a black and white striped clutch. She wore black pointed-toe mesh pumps with grommet detailing.

Nnoye Udeogu

Nnoye Udeogu wore a strapless, floor-length Nia dress from Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. The gown featured a structured corseted bodice with a sweetheart neckline and was made from rich brocade fabric with a red floral pattern on a dark base.  Nnoye paired her look with a clutch bag from BUI Accessories and wore drop earrings, a gold-toned watch, and a bracelet.

Stephanie Cooker

Stephanie Cooker shared her thoughts on hosting the event in an Instagram caption: “Miranda Priestly would look up from her desk, say nothing, and that would be enough. Truly an honour to host the premiere of such an iconic movie that shaped the careers and fashion of so many of us women and men. The shoes? Also, Miranda approved. That’s all.”

She wore a midi-length satin coat dress with a vertical black-and-white split design. The outfit has a V-neckline and padded shoulders. It is cinched at the waist with a wide fabric bow, while the black satin extends from the hip to the floor. Stephanie complemented her outfit with a pair of neon green pointed-toe stiletto pumps and a dark green quilted leather bag.

Idia Aisien

Idia Aisien appeared in a pared-look at the premiere. She wore a strapless, floor-length gown by Illona Atelier made from black croc-embossed leather fabric with a high-shine finish. It had a flared mermaid-style finish. Her accessories were kept minimal. She paired the look with a silver-toned diamond necklace and matching drop earrings. Idia carried a small black top-handle bag with gold-toned details and wore a silver bracelet on her left wrist.

Akin Faminu


Dr. Akin Faminu wore a look that highlighted Nigerian high fashion. His outfit, designed by Mekkalia, featured a vest constructed from rows of seashells layered over a white voluminous gathered-sleeve shirt. Akin paired the top with burgundy wide-leg trousers. He accessorised with black-tinted sunglasses and a gold necklace, and wore matching footwear.
