Jade Osiberu is a Nigerian film producer, screenwriter, and entrepreneur who has made a significant impact on the Nollywood film industry. With a career spanning over a decade, Jade has produced some of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful films in Nigeria, including the award-winning movie “Isoken.”
Early Life and Education:
Jade Osiberu was born on August 18, 1985, in Lagos, Nigeria. She is the daughter of the Elepe of Epe Sagamu -Oba Adewale Osiberu. Jade’s early life was marked by a strong passion for storytelling and the arts. She attended the University of Manchester, where she studied Computer Systems Engineering and Pan-Atlantic University where she got another degree in Media and Communication.
Career:
Jade’s journey into the film industry began in 2007 when she started working as a production assistant on several Nollywood film sets. During this period, she learned the ropes of film production, from script development to post-production. Her early experiences laid the foundation for her future success as a producer. Her first screen display came in 2011 when she produced her first film, “Gidi Up,” a web series that premiered on YouTube. The series was a huge success, and Jade’s production company, Greoh Studios, was born.
Her big break came In 2017 when she produced the commercially successful film “Isoken,” which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and went on to win several awards, including the Best director award at the 2018 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards. “Isoken” was also a commercial success, grossing over 50 million naira at the box office.
Jade has since produced several other successful films, including “Sugar Rush“, “The Bling Lagosians.” “Gang of Lagos” etc. Her production company, Greoh Studios, has become a household name in the Nollywood film industry, known for producing high-quality, engaging, and thought-provoking thrillers and Romcom.
