Agbada is not new to Nigerian fashion, but every so often, someone comes along and makes people look at it differently. Kola Omotoso is doing exactly that. Since leaving the Big Brother Naija Season 10 house, the reality TV star has turned nearly every traditional outing into another opportunity to experiment with agbada, and Nigerians online have taken notice.

For a church outing which he captioned, “Sunday with the IGWE’S” he was in a King Kaftan piece: a black and white floral agbada with matching trousers and black loafers worn with a matching printed cap and round glasses.

For a look he captioned “One fit was required, two felt more like me,” he wore a teal agbada from Tochinima with dark embroidered patterns running down the front, a matching cap, and several strands of black beads layered at his neck, finished with a long carved wooden staff.

Black Dandyism Is Back: Why Bimbo Ademoye’s Oversized Suit Is Peak Fashion Inspiration

Bimbo Ademoye just gave every stylist in Lagos something to work with. In her latest Instagram post, the Nollywood actress traded her usual tight, body-con looks for a suit that swallowed her whole. She captioned it: “Stay small enough long enough, because soon enough, you’d be big enough to.”

She wore a matching two-piece set in a neutral mocha-tan color. The oversized blazer had broad, structured shoulders and buttoned low at the waist. She paired it with wide-legged trousers, cut high at the waist, that fell all the way to the floor.

Her hair from Hair by Tosin was a long, bone-straight wig tucked neatly behind her ears. Her makeup by Glam by Morgan combined earthy tones with a deep berry-red lip. Her accessories stayed minimal: a scarlet New York Yankees cap, a red Dolce & Gabbana handbag in a trapezoidal shape, gold hoops, a bracelet, a few rings, and black leather loafers.

The look also connects with the wider history of Black dandyism, where clothes have often been a way to express identity and self-expression. It goes beyond oversized suits and menswear-inspired pieces, with a history tied to culture, status and the ways Black people use fashion to present themselves.

Bimbo’s outfit picks up on some of those ideas through its strong tailoring and oversized proportions, without necessarily making it a Black dandyism look. The wide blazer and trousers take familiar menswear shapes and give them a different feel, while her cap, red handbag and other styling choices make the outfit feel personal to her.

Corsets have been her signature for years, waist cinched and shape on full display in almost every red carpet look. This time, she let all of it disappear into layers of oversized fabric.

Delphine Onyii Okoronkwo, known online as Delonyii, took her brunch plans all the way to Paris, sharing photos from the outing with her followers. The founder of Bare To Beauty Cosmetics captioned the post: “Brunch in the city of love but keeping it fashionably cute.”

The photos were taken outside one of Paris’s grand old buildings, its honey-colored stone walls standing behind her in the late afternoon light.

She wore an oversized, bright white blazer worn over her shoulders with her arms left out of the sleeves. She paired it with a tight, black, scoop-neck cropped tank top and high-waisted black shorts with a delicate white lace trim along the bottom edge.

She accessorized with oval sunglasses in dark lenses and thin metallic frames, a small black leather bucket bag, a silver watch, and a few thin bracelets. Her hair fell in long, dark waves past her shoulders under a black pillbox hat pulled to her hairline. Her makeup was done in neutral tones with products from Baretobeautycosmetics, and she paired with black patent leather stilettos with pointed toes.

Ayra Starr turned an ordinary New York afternoon into a fashion event, and she did it before she even stepped inside her own album party.

On August 5, 2026, the Mavin Records star spent the day in Manhattan running a street photoshoot and media schedule ahead of her Starr Girl album listening party, the private event where fans and industry insiders got their first taste of her third studio album. Cameras caught her weaving through the city hours before the doors even opened, proof that the promotional run was just as much a show as the event itself.

She wore a bright magenta satin slip mini dress. The lingerie-inspired piece had a deep V-neckline, thin spaghetti straps, and a short side slit. It was intricately detailed with matching tonal floral lace embroidery along the bust line, the slit, and the scalloped hem.

Her hair was styled in long, neat, tight cornrow braids with curly extensions falling past her shoulders and her makeup was in warm tones with a glossy, lined nude-brown lip. Ayra’s accessories included a thick, multi-row rhinestone diamond choker necklace, matching crystal drop earrings, a silver chain bracelet on her right wrist, and a simple ring.

Her shoes, the highlight of her look, were a pair of vintage Christian Dior knee-high boots from John Galliano’s famous Fall/Winter 2000 Runway Collection. The black leather boots had a pointed toe, a low stiletto heel, an intricate lace-up front, and a gold-tone “CD” logo buckle strap wrapping around the top calf. Knee-high styles have trailed Ayra through nearly every chapter of her career, from her earliest music videos to stages across three continents.

The timing also lines up with a big month ahead. Starr Girl, a sixteen-track project featuring Wizkid, Rema, and Zayn Malik, drops on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records. Every appearance in the lead-up, including this one, has doubled as a preview of the visual world she’s building around the album.
