Team Neche has reacted to the reality star’s sudden departure from the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house, describing the decision as difficult but asking fans to support her decision to leave.

Neche voluntarily exited the competition on Sunday, August 16, 2026, shortly after the live eviction show. She gathered her fellow housemates and informed them that she had decided to withdraw from the competition. The organisers later confirmed that her decision was prompted by pressing personal matters that required her immediate attention. The nature of those matters has not been disclosed.

Two days after her departure, Team Neche released an official statement addressing her supporters and reflecting on her short stay in the house. The team acknowledged that the exit was not what they had expected when she entered the competition.

According to the statement, Neche went into the house with the intention of giving the competition her best and staying until the end. During the three weeks she spent on the show, her team said she developed a strong connection with viewers and became a housemate many people supported.

“Neche was a worthy competitor,” the team said, pointing to her drive, personality and intelligence as qualities that could have taken her further in the competition.

The team also recognised the disappointment among fans who had hoped to see Neche remain in the competition. Some supporters, it said, had already begun to picture her making it to the finale and possibly winning the season.

Team Neche urged supporters to see her decision as a difficult choice rather than a failure. The team said the same resolve Neche displayed inside the house was behind her decision to leave when circumstances outside the show demanded her attention.

The message was particularly directed at her supporters, known as the Cheytars. Team Neche thanked them for standing behind her and urged them to continue their support even though she was no longer competing for the season’s ₦160 million prize package.

The team also made it clear that Neche’s public activities would not stop with her departure from BBNaija. It announced that her media rounds would begin soon, giving her an opportunity to speak directly about her experience on the reality show and address the public herself.

Neche was one of the 24 housemates introduced when the 11th season, tagged “Show Ya Sef,” premiered on July 26. Her departure came less than a month into the competition and ended her pursuit of the season’s grand prize.

Kamsy Uzoma‘s journey in the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house has come to an end after she was evicted during the live show on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

The 24-year-old event planner and gift curator from Imo State was among 16 housemates nominated for possible eviction in the third week of the competition. After the voting process, Kamsy emerged as the only housemate to leave the show on the night, becoming the third contestant evicted from the ‘Show Ya Sef’ season with a vote of 2.41%.

Kamsy’s exit came a week after Martins and Mercedes became the first two housemates to leave the season. Her departure leaves 21 housemates competing for the ₦160 million grand prize attached to this year’s edition. The season premiered on July 26 with 24 contestants entering the house.

Following her eviction, Kamsy joined host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu for her first interview outside the house, where she addressed some of the conversations surrounding her time on the show. One of the subjects was her relationship with fellow housemate Gerard. Kamsy explained that the emotional moment viewers saw from her was not because of Gerard, although she admitted that she had started developing feelings for him.

Her departure, however, was not the only major development from Sunday night.

Shortly after the live eviction show, Neche, who was the Head of House for the week, gathered her fellow contestants in the lounge and announced that she had decided to leave the competition voluntarily. Unlike Kamsy, whose journey ended through the public eviction process, Neche chose to withdraw from the show herself.

Neche did not give the housemates a specific reason for her decision. She removed her microphone and name tag before heading to the Diary Room to formally complete her exit. Her announcement caught the other contestants off guard, with several of them becoming emotional as they processed her decision.

The exits were followed by another message from Big Brother, this time directed at the housemates who remain in the competition.

Big Brother warned the contestants over repeated violations of the house rules and reminded them that they were expected to follow the instructions governing life in the house. The warning comes as the new week begins with 21 housemates remaining following Kamsy’s eviction.

The latest developments leave the remaining contestants with more than just another eviction to think about. With Kamsy out through the public vote, Neche choosing to walk away and Big Brother tightening his warning over rule violations, the fourth week of the competition begins with fewer housemates and another reminder that every decision inside the house can affect their stay.

BBNaija 11 Week 3: Everything You Missed

Big Brother Naija Season 11’s third week brought a change in leadership, a complicated nomination process, tension over the weekly wager and shifting relationships in the house. With the next live eviction still ahead, several moments during the week helped shape the mood in Biggie’s house.

Neche Wins Head of House

Neche became the week 3 Head of House after defeating Chimsom Chuka in the final stage of the challenge on Day 15. Her victory secured her immunity from eviction and the HoH privileges for the week. Chimsom, however, also secured safety after being named the Most Influential Player of the Week (MIPOW).

The new HoH quickly found that leading the house would not be straightforward. By Thursday, Neche admitted that even some of her friends, including Sheba, Goddessa and Araga, were not always giving her the respect she expected in her new position.

Neche’s Veto Power Changes the Nomination List

The nomination process became more complicated after the housemates’ Conspiracy Hour discussions. Cassi, Bluethopia and Gerard initially received enough votes to secure safety. Neche then used her Veto Power to remove Gerard from the safe group and place him on the nomination list.

That decision helped produce a 16-person eviction list containing Gerard, Abi, Bells, Goddessa, Barry, Araga, Kamsy, Oyin, Nomy, Sheba, Keivo, Temi Nkem, Sultex, Ricky, Tram and Yusuf.

Nomy Faces More Pressure in the House

Nomy‘s difficult week continued after Biggie punished her for failing to fully comply with her Bench Warmer duties. She remained the Bench Warmer and continued to face the restrictions attached to the role.

Her relationship with Cassi also came under strain. On Day 15, Cassi confronted her about comments she had made in front of Goddessa. Nomy admitted she was wrong and apologised, bringing the conversation to a calmer end.

Wager Rehearsals Bring Tension

The housemates entered the wager preparations knowing another loss would worsen their food situation. Rehearsals became increasingly demanding, with Cassi frustrated by what he described as a lack of commitment from some housemates.

The pressure peaked on Thursday when Araga’s role as director had to be reconsidered because he was unwell. Sheba suggested Ricky take over, but Ricky initially refused. There were also disagreements over the dance sequence, costumes and who was properly prepared for each scene.

Araga and Goddessa’s Relationship Takes a Turn

Araga and Goddessa also had to navigate tension in their relationship during the week. Goddessa told Abi and Sheba that she wanted Araga to trust her and allow her to make her own choices.

The situation became more complicated when Araga told Yusuf to back off from Goddessa. However, Goddessa later objected to some of Araga’s behaviour, particularly his attempts to influence who she interacted with, adding another point of friction between them.

The Housemates Win Their Wager

After days of rehearsals, disagreements and exhaustion, the housemates finally had something to celebrate. Their wager presentation earned them their first wager victory as a house.

Biggie criticised some aspects of the performance but praised Sultex, Yusuf, Barry and Tram for their contributions before delivering the winning verdict.

Thursday Pool Party Gives Housemates a Break

The wager win was followed by a pool party, giving the housemates a chance to relax after a demanding few days. Araga and Goddessa were seen enjoying each other’s company on the dance floor, while Chimsom Chuka and Bluethopia shared a cosy moment. Kamsy and Gerard also joined the celebrations, as did Yusuf and Bells.

With 16 housemates still facing possible eviction, attention now shifts to the public vote and Sunday’s live eviction show.

Martins Iyeh and Ijeoma Mercedes Emi have been evicted from the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house, becoming the first two housemates to leave the reality show.

Their exit came during the live show on Sunday, August 9, with Martins announced as the first housemate to be evicted before Mercedes followed. It was the first double eviction of the “Show Ya Sef” season, bringing an end to their stay in Biggie’s house just two weeks after the show premiered on July 26.

A total of 16 housemates had been placed on the eviction list ahead of the live show. When the voting results were announced, Martins recorded 1.63 per cent of the votes, while Mercedes polled 2.29 per cent. Keivo, who was also among those at risk, narrowly escaped eviction with a vote of 2.92 per cent, putting him ahead of both Martins and Mercedes. The result secured his place in the house for another week, while the other two housemates were asked to leave.

Nomy also received the season’s first strike, which Big Brother described as her final warning. The punishment came after Big Brother summoned the housemates and addressed Nomy over repeated violations of his instructions.

According to the explanation given during the show, Nomy had repeatedly failed to follow Big Brother’s instructions in the house. Big Brother made it clear that the housemates are expected to obey his directives rather than decide which instructions they want to follow. The strike further breaches potentially putting her position in the show at greater risk.

With Martins and Mercedes gone, 22 housemates remain in the Big Brother Naija Season 11 house.
