on

When love, culture, and high fashion collide, you get a wedding like Priscilla Ojo’s, a dazzling celebration that took us on a sartorial journey from the sun-kissed shores of Tanzania to the vibrant heart of Nigeria. Every outfit was a statement, every detail intentional, and every moment pure bridal magic.

Priscilla, the stunning daughter of Nollywood icon Iyabo Ojo, didn’t just marry Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, she gave us a front-row seat to a fashion spectacle that blended tradition, modernity, and jaw-dropping glamour. Buckle up, because we’re breaking down the looks that turned this wedding into a style revolution.

The Nigerian Traditional Ensemble: A Yoruba Queen’s Statement

If there’s one thing Nigerians do flawlessly, it’s aso-oke elegance, and Priscilla took it to another level. For her introduction ceremony in September 2024, she stepped out in a rich maroon aso-oke ensemble, dripping with intricate embroidery and crowned with a perfectly tied gele that could rival any runway moment. This look wasn’t just fashion; it was a love letter to Priscilla’s Yoruba heritage.

This look was more than just aesthetics; it was a beautiful nod to Islamic tradition, blending modesty with high fashion. And let’s be honest, Priscilla in gold? Beautiful.  Juma, ever the dashing groom, matched her energy in a crisp white kanzu, complete with a ceremonial sword, because why walk into marriage without a little drama?

The Civil Wedding: Less Is More.

Not every bride can pull off understated elegance, but Priscilla made it look effortless. For the civil ceremony, she opted for a chic white high-low gown with a one-shoulder neckline, simple, sophisticated, and oh-so-classy. Paired with soft glam makeup and a dainty fascinator, she proved that sometimes, less really is more.

The Nigerian Aso-Oke Showstopper: Royalty in Purple

Just when we thought she couldn’t outdo herself, Priscilla hit us with this masterpiece. Back on Nigerian soil, she stunned in a regal purple aso-oke creation, adorned with delicate pink beadwork that screamed “Yoruba princess vibes.” Juma, never one to be outshined, matched her in a custom agbada embroidered with an African map motif, because if you’re going to make a statement, why not go all out? That ceremonial staff Juma held like the king he is. This wasn’t just an outfit; it was a cultural flex, and we were here for it.

Beaded Garden Fantasy: When Haute Couture Meets Tradition

Imagine a dress so breathtaking it belongs in a museum. That was Priscilla’s beaded garden gown, a sculpted, corseted masterpiece with intricate floral illusion mesh detailing. The deep maroon gele added a regal touch, making her look like she stepped straight out of a fashion editorial.

This was more than a wedding dress; it was art. If the Met Gala had a “Bridal Royalty” theme, Priscilla would’ve been the undisputed star.

The Classic White Wedding Dress

And then came the dress, the one that made us all gasp. Designed by the legendary Veekee James, Priscilla’s white wedding gown was pure fantasy. With its high-neck lace, dramatic sleeves, and delicate sparkle detailing, it hugged her like it was sewn by angels (and let’s be real, Veekee James might just be one).

Set against a dreamy floral altar, this was the kind of bridal moment that makes you believe in fairy tales. We’re not crying, you’re crying.

Priscilla Ojo, a Veekee James bride

Priscilla Ojo didn’t just have a wedding; she gave us a fashion experience. From Tanzania to Nigeria, every outfit told a story, one of love, heritage, and unapologetic glamour.

If there’s one thing we learned, it’s this: when two cultures come together in style, the result isn’t just a wedding, it’s a masterpiece. And Priscilla? She wasn’t just a bride. She was the moment.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be staring at these photos for the next five business days. Sigh. Goals.

Lupita Nyong’o Was A Golden Goddess In Nicholas Oakwell Couture At ‘The Odyssey’ Premiere

Lupita Nyong’o arrived at the New York premiere of “The Odyssey” in gold, and honestly, nobody was ready. The actress hit the red carpet at AMC Lincoln Square on Tuesday night wearing a dress that fans couldn’t get enough of.

Her outfit was the Collins gown, a strapless piece from London-based designer Nicholas Oakwell Couture, named after screen icon Joan Collins and inspired by her commanding role in “Esther and the King.”

The statuesque shape came from a metallic gold floral lace overlay sculpted over a built-in, lace-up corset that sharply defined her waist. Below that fitted bodice, the fabric flowed into a long column skirt with soft Grecian draping and a bold thigh-high slit. She finished the gilded look with metallic gold block-heel sandals from Aldo, styled by her longtime stylist Micaela Erlanger.

Her hair, styled by Vernon François, was pulled into a sculpted high updo that framed her face and left her neckline bare for the jewelry to shine. Makeup artist Nick Barose kept her glam warm, finishing it off with a glossy berry lip that popped against the gold. Every piece she wore that night pointed back to the film’s mythology. Around her neck sat a Sabyasachi five-strand pearl and diamond choker, its uncut diamonds totaling 11.21 carats, and on her hand, a matching 18k gold Sabyasachi Bengal Tiger ring set with a bright blue sapphire. She rounded off the look with a book-shaped “Odyssey” clutch by Olympia Le-Tan, hand-embroidered in blue, navy, and gold to resemble a vintage copy of Homer’s epic.

The timing worked in her favor too. In The Odyssey, Nyong’o plays both Helen of Troy and her twin sister, Clytemnestra. Helen is often described in Greek mythology as the world’s most beautiful woman, making the gold look a fitting choice for the film’s New York premiere.

The New York premiere also brought together much of The Odyssey cast, including Tom Holland, Zendaya, Matt Damon, Charlize Theron, Anne Hathaway, Samantha Morton and Elliot Page. For Nyong’o, it was the final stop on the film’s press tour, and she ended it in gold.

Rita Dominic Was an Actual Ray of Sunshine for Her Birthday Shoot

Published

Some birthday photos are easy to scroll past. Rita Dominic’s latest shoot is definitely not one of them. For her birthday on July 12, 2026, the actress wore a bold yellow monochrome outfit that instantly pulls you in. It is proof that sometimes you only need one bold colour to make a huge fashion moment. While every detail of the shoot looks great, that bright, cheerful yellow completely stole the show.

Photo: Portraitsby ID

Her outfit was styled by celebrity stylist Medlin Boss, she wore a beautifully tailored, double-breasted yellow blazer with sharp, padded shoulders, a plunging V-neckline, and an intricate, sweeping pattern of linear beadwork and circular textured embroidery across the torso. She paired it with high-waisted, wide-leg trousers in the exact same bold shade, creating a clean, elongated vertical line and an avant-garde edge. She completed the look with a textured faux-fur coat.

Rita accessorized with matching yellow satin opera-length gloves tucked under her sleeves, minimalist gold studs, and a pair of contemporary, crystal-trimmed cat-eye sunglasses with warm-tinted lenses. Complementing the suit, her hair was pulled into a smooth, tightly secured high topknot bun to bring focus to her face and the strong shape of her shoulders. Her makeup, done by T.A’La Mode Beauty, was in warm earthy tones and a simple nude-gloss lip, creating a soft balance against the monochrome look.

Photo: Portraitsby ID

Just days before this shoot, on July 9, Rita stepped out in a completely different look, an off-the-shoulder royal purple gown with a fitted bodice and sheer sleeves. It’s a good reminder of how she operates: she doesn’t stick to one look for long. One week it’s soft and romantic, the next it’s bold and impossible to miss. That range is really what her style is about, she’s not afraid to switch things up and try something new each time.

Photo: Portraitsby ID

Last year, for her 50th, she went with white, soft and calm. This time she did the total opposite: loud, bright, hard to miss. That says a lot about where she is right now, more confident, more willing to try something bold. If this is 51, we can only imagine what she’ll do next year.
