Barry has secured the first guaranteed place in the Big Brother Naija Season 11 finale after winning the Week 8 Head of House challenge, a victory that also gave him the Ultimate Veto Power and control over an important part of this week’s eviction process.

The fashion designer faced Keivo in the final stage of the Head of House challenge after both housemates made it through the earlier rounds. The Week 8 competition consisted of three games, with Barry and Keivo emerging as the two contestants who reached the final stage after successfully completing the third game by placing 18 balls in a tower.

The final challenge, called “Wild Climber,” required the two finalists to collect a ping-pong ball and use spoons to move it through marked checkpoints before getting it into a cup. Barry reached the third checkpoint before being buzzed out, while Keivo made it as far as the first checkpoint. Barry was subsequently declared the Week 8 Head of House.

The win came with more than the usual Head of House privileges. Barry earned immunity for the week, the opportunity to choose a housemate to share the Head of House loft with, and the Ultimate Veto Power. He selected Keivo as his Loft Mate, while Bells was named the week’s Benchwarmer.

The Ultimate Veto Power also gave Barry the ability to influence nominations during both the current week and the following week, regardless of the result of the next Head of House challenge.

That power changed the usual nomination process. Instead of simply going through the standard nomination format, housemates were given an opportunity to make their case directly to Barry. Each nominated housemate had two minutes to explain why they should be saved from possible eviction.

Keivo was the first to make his case, followed by Oyin, Sheba, Chimsom Chuka, Yusuf, Flora, Aikou, Temi Nkem, Bluethopia, Ricky, Bells and Tram. After hearing from the housemates, Big Brother asked Barry to make his decision. He chose to save Aikou.

With Aikou protected by Barry’s veto, Barry himself was also safe because of the immunity attached to his position. The remaining housemates were left facing possible eviction in Week 8.

The final list of housemates up for possible eviction was Chimsom Chuka, Tram, Temi Nkem, Keivo, Ricky, Sheba, Yusuf, Bells, Flora, Oyin and Bluethopia.

Barry’s Head of House victory also secured a significant milestone in his BBNaija journey. Big Brother announced that he was the first finalist of Season 11, giving him an automatic place in the finale and immunity through to the end of the competition.

Host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu announced their exits during the live broadcast. Their departure came a week after Gerard was evicted from the competition.

Abi and Araga were among the 13 housemates nominated for possible eviction in Week 7. Big Brother changed the usual nomination process that week, instructing the housemates to search for red envelopes hidden around the house. Keivo found the ‘safe or not’ card, after which Week 7 Head of House Tram used his veto to save him. Big Brother then placed the remaining housemates up for possible eviction.

The 13 housemates at risk were Abi, Araga, Aikou, Barry, Bells, Bluethopia, Chimsom Chuka, Flora, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Yusuf.

Abi leaves the show after winning the Head of House title twice during the season. She won the Week 6 Head of House challenge, earning immunity from eviction that week.

She has earlier been named Most Influential Player of the Week. Abi also won the Week 4 Head of House challenge and used her nomination powers to put Aikou, Araga and Yusuf up for possible eviction. Araga survived that eviction round.

Araga had also been nominated for eviction in Week 5 and 6. He survived the Week 5 eviction, when Sultex and Goddessa were evicted. He was nominated again in Week 6, when 15 housemates were placed at risk, but survived once more as Gerard was evicted. He remained in the competition until Week 7.

Abi and Araga now join Martins, Mercedes, Kamsy, Cassi, Sultex, Goddessa and Gerard as housemates who have been evicted from the ‘Show Ya Sef’ season. Neche previously left the show voluntarily, while Nomy was disqualified.

Following the Week 7 eviction, 14 housemates remain in the competition for the ₦160 million grand prize.

Big Brother Naija Season 11 entered Week 7 with Nomy’s disqualification, a new Head of House, changes to the nomination process and several disagreements among the housemates. Thirteen housemates were also placed up for possible eviction, while relationship issues, cleaning duties and the wager task added to the drama so far this week.

Nomy Disqualified From BBNaija Season 11

One of the biggest developments of Week 7 was Nomy’s disqualification from the Big Brother Naija house on September 7. Big Brother’s decision followed her repeated defiance of his instructions, including an earlier strike and final warning. She had also been made a Bench Warmer after finishing last in the Head of House challenge, with instructions to remain on a designated bench and wear a vest. On the day of her disqualification, she left the assigned bench and also left the vest behind.

Big Brother later announced that Nomy would no longer continue in the competition and gave her 30 minutes to pack her belongings and leave the house. Her exit was a disciplinary disqualification rather than a public vote eviction. She is the first housemate to be disqualified from the ongoing season.

Tram Takes Over as Week 7 Head of House

Tram became the Week 7 Head of House after winning the HoH challenge, placing him in charge of the week’s HoH duties and privileges.

His new position also gave him a role in the nomination process. This became significant after Big Brother introduced a change to the usual nomination routine for the week.

Big Brother Changes the Nomination Process

Big Brother changed the Week 7 nomination process by placing envelopes containing specific instructions in the house. Each housemate was required to pick an envelope and carry out the task or nomination instruction inside it, replacing the regular face-to-face nomination format. The instructions in the envelopes determined which housemates would be nominated and how the process played out.

Keivo eventually found the card that placed his safety in the hands of the Head of House. Tram had to decide whether to leave Keivo at risk of eviction or save him, and he chose to save him. His decision affected the final list of housemates placed up for the public vote.

13 Housemates Face Possible Eviction

At the end of the nomination process, 13 housemates were placed up for possible eviction. They were Abi, Aikou, Araga, Barry, Bells, Bluethopia, Chimsom Chuka, Flora, Oyin, Ricky, Sheba, Temi Nkem and Yusuf.

The nominated housemates carried on with their usual activities while preparing for the wager task.

Araga, Sheba and Ricky Clash Over ‘Bro Code’

Trust became another source of disagreement during the week. Araga had conversations with Sheba and other housemates about whether information was being shared around the house.

The issue later led to an exchange between Araga, Sheba and Ricky. Ricky challenged Araga over what he believed had been shared, while Sheba questioned some of the conclusions being made about her. The disagreement became one of the notable arguments of the week.

Bells and Yusuf’s Relationship Comes Under Pressure

Bells and Yusuf also had a difficult conversation. Bells apologised to Yusuf after admitting that she had disrespected him, but the apology did not immediately resolve the issue between them.

The two continued to discuss where their relationship stood, with Yusuf sharing his concerns about the situation. Their conversations became another storyline playing out in the house as the week progressed.

Abi and Ricky Face Relationship Tension

Abi and Ricky also experienced tension during Week 7. A conversation between the two led Abi to question the direction of their relationship, after which she said she wanted to take a step back.

Several of them dealt with disagreements and uncertainty about where they stood with one another.

Tram and Sheba Clash Over Cleaning Duties

Cleaning duties sparked another clash between Tram and Sheba. Tram called the housemates together to discuss their responsibilities and assigned different areas for them to clean.

Sheba questioned his approach, arguing that attention should be given to areas that actually needed cleaning. Tram defended the arrangements, and the discussion became heated before it ended and the housemates returned to their duties.

Housemates Lose Week 7 Wager

The Week 7 wager was another major part of the latter stages of the week. The housemates spent time rehearsing their presentation, organising their costumes and working through their different parts of the task.

Their efforts did not earn them a win. The housemates lost the Week 7 wager on September 11, giving them another setback as they headed towards the weekend and the next live eviction show.

With 13 housemates facing possible eviction and the wager already lost, attention now turns to the next live show, where the public vote will determine who stays in the competition and who leaves.
