Ayra Starr Announces Third Studio Album ‘Starr Girl’

Ayra Starr has officially unveiled her third studio album, “Starr Girl”, giving fans their first confirmed look at the project she has been teasing for months.

The Nigerian singer shared the news during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, where she confirmed that “Starr Girl” will be be released on August 14. Speaking about the album, Ayra said she was proud of the work she had put into it, describing it as a deeply personal record that reflects where she is in her career.

“My album, ‘Starr Girl’… I’m so proud of this body of work. I put everything into it, and I can’t wait for the world to hear it,” she said during the interview.

“Starr Girl” follows her debut album, “19 & Dangerous (2021)”, and her sophomore effort, “The Year I Turned 21 (2024)”, both of which helped establish her as one of Africa’s leading contemporary music stars. Since then, Ayra Starr has expanded her audience well beyond Nigeria through international tours, festival appearances and collaborations with artists from different parts of the world.

The new album arrives after months of speculation from fans, who had closely followed her studio updates and social media hints. Earlier interviews also revealed that she had been recording new music and exploring fresh ideas for the project, although she kept the album title under wraps until the official announcement.

One of the songs already linked to the album is “Where Do We Go”, which Ayra Starr performed during her appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show. The performance offered viewers an early taste of the direction she is taking on the new record.

In recent days, the singer has also begun counting down to the album’s release across her social media platforms, sharing teaser clips while continuing her recovery after recently undergoing surgery.

Released through Mavin Records, with international backing from Roc Nation, the 16-track project features guest appearances from Wizkid on “Gimme Dat” and Rema on “Who’s Dat Girl”, adding two of Afrobeats’ biggest names to the record.

With two successful studio albums already to her name and a growing global profile, “Starr Girl” marks another important chapter for the 23-year-old artist. Davido Unveils Oriadé Tracklist Featuring Black Sherif, Aya Nakamura and Leon Thomas

Nigerian music star Davido has officially revealed the tracklist for his upcoming album, “Oriadé”, giving fans a closer look at the collaborations that will feature on the 13-track project. The album is scheduled for release on Friday, July 31, 2026.

The singer shared the tracklist on his social media platforms, confirming contributions from a mix of African and international artists. Among the featured names are Ghanaian musician Black Sherif, French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura and American singer-songwriter Leon Thomas. The album also includes contributions from Mayorkun, FOLA, Llona, JAZZWRLD, GL Ceejay and NO11.

Black Sherif appears on “Amazing Grace”, while Leon Thomas joins Davido on “Tell Everybody”. Aya Nakamura features on “10 Yaya”, marking another partnership between the two artists following their previous work together. Elsewhere on the album, Mayorkun and FOLA appear together on “B4 B4”, Llona features on “My Light”, and JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay join Davido on “I Know Who I Be”. NO11 also features on “Gimme Dat Ting”.

The complete tracklist includes “On The Road”, “Amazing Grace”, “Julie”, “Constantly”, “I Know Who I Be”, “Gimme Dat Ting”, “B4 B4”, “Already Falling”, “Tell Everybody”, “10 Yaya”, “Zanzibar”, “Guide” and “My Light”.

The tracklist offers a clearer picture of the direction of “Oriadé”, with Davido bringing together artists from different parts of Africa and beyond while also working with familiar faces from the Nigerian music scene. The album brings together familiar names and newer voices from Nigeria and beyond.

“Oriadé” follows Davido’s previous studio albums, including “Timeless” and “5ive”, and arrives after months of teasers and updates from the singer. The rollout has included artwork, promotional videos and announcements that have steadily built anticipation ahead of the album’s release. Davido has described the project as a celebration of his 15th year in the music industry, saying the album marks a return to the high-energy African sound that has defined much of his career while demonstrating his growth as an artist.

As Managing Director of Warner Music Africa and Senior Vice President, Strategy for Sub-Saharan Africa and Special Projects at Warner Music Group, Temi Adeniji oversees the company’s operations across the region. During her time at Warner Music, she has helped drive the company’s expansion in Africa through investments and partnerships, including a majority stake in Africori and a strategic alliance with Chocolate City. She has also been involved in the international growth of African artists, with Warner Music supporting the global rise of CKay’s Love Nwantiti, one of the biggest Afrobeats crossover records in recent years. Her work spans business strategy, artist development and long-term growth across African markets.

Rima Tahini

Rima Tahini is Senior Vice President, A&R and Creatives at Mavin Global. She joined the company after working on Kupanda Capital’s investment in Mavin before moving into artist and repertoire (A&R), where she steadily rose through the ranks. Today, she leads Mavin’s A&R and creative teams, working closely with artists on music development, release planning and creative direction. During her time at the label, Mavin artists including Rema and Ayra Starr have expanded their global reach through international chart success, award nominations and collaborations, reflecting the label’s growing influence in the global music business.

In her role, she oversees the portfolios of artists including Qing Madi, Mayorkun, Gyakie and Oladapo, working across artist development and creative direction. She also served as a judge on the MTN Best of the Street talent competition, where she evaluated emerging musicians. In 2023, she was named among TurnTable Charts’ 30 Under 30 Power Players in Nigerian Music, recognising young professionals contributing to the growth of the industry.

Elizabeth Sobowale

Elizabeth Sobowale is the founder of The Other Agency and the manager of Afrobeats singer Adekunle Gold. She has overseen his career through major projects, including the Catch Me If You Can (2022) and Tequila Ever After (2023) album campaigns, helping shape both his artistic direction and commercial brand. Beyond artist management, she serves as Programme Director of the Creative Business Academy (CBA) for Africa, formerly known as the Music Business Academy for Africa. Keke Hammond

Keke Hammond is the Chief Operating Officer of Flytime Promotions and the Chief Executive Officer of Road14 Studios. At Flytime, she oversees the operational planning, sponsorships and commercial partnerships behind some of Nigeria’s biggest live music events. Her work has been central to the growth of Flytime Fest, which has expanded into a multi-day festival featuring Nigerian and international artists, including Davido, Asake, Rema and Central Cee. Through her leadership on the business and production side, she has helped strengthen one of Africa’s most established live entertainment platforms.
