Ayra Starr Gives Knee-High Boots a Cool New York Twist
Ayra Starr turned an ordinary New York afternoon into a fashion event, and she did it before she even stepped inside her own album party.
On August 5, 2026, the Mavin Records star spent the day in Manhattan running a street photoshoot and media schedule ahead of her Starr Girl album listening party, the private event where fans and industry insiders got their first taste of her third studio album. Cameras caught her weaving through the city hours before the doors even opened, proof that the promotional run was just as much a show as the event itself.

She wore a bright magenta satin slip mini dress. The lingerie-inspired piece had a deep V-neckline, thin spaghetti straps, and a short side slit. It was intricately detailed with matching tonal floral lace embroidery along the bust line, the slit, and the scalloped hem.
Her hair was styled in long, neat, tight cornrow braids with curly extensions falling past her shoulders and her makeup was in warm tones with a glossy, lined nude-brown lip. Ayra’s accessories included a thick, multi-row rhinestone diamond choker necklace, matching crystal drop earrings, a silver chain bracelet on her right wrist, and a simple ring.

Her shoes, the highlight of her look, were a pair of vintage Christian Dior knee-high boots from John Galliano’s famous Fall/Winter 2000 Runway Collection. The black leather boots had a pointed toe, a low stiletto heel, an intricate lace-up front, and a gold-tone “CD” logo buckle strap wrapping around the top calf. Knee-high styles have trailed Ayra through nearly every chapter of her career, from her earliest music videos to stages across three continents.
The timing also lines up with a big month ahead. Starr Girl, a sixteen-track project featuring Wizkid, Rema, and Zayn Malik, drops on August 14, 2026, through Mavin Records and Republic Records. Every appearance in the lead-up, including this one, has doubled as a preview of the visual world she’s building around the album.

Nelly Mbonu Takes Sage Green Beyond the Basics
Nelly Mbonu skipped the usual bright colours and bold prints for something calmer this time. In her latest Instagram post, she went with a soft sage green two-piece, and it still managed to make it remarkable. She captioned the post, “Always in control.”
Nelly’s monochromatic look features a beautifully tailored, custom-made sage green two-piece set styled by Princenat Eero and it mixes sharp tailoring with soft pastel tones for a sophisticated, modern aesthetic.

She wore a long-sleeved cropped jacket in a soft sage green shade. The jacket had sharp shoulders, decorative faux pocket flaps on the chest, and an angular, deep V-neckline that created a bold plunging effect, with the front baring the midriff with a clean, functional metallic zipper. She paired it with matching high-waisted wide-leg high-waisted trousers.
Her accessories included drop earrings and a small, pink textured leather top-handle mini bag by Uelle. The handbag had an uncommon custom-painted black shape illustration of a woman with an Afro hairstyle on the front face, adding a playful contrasting colour to the muted green base. Her hair was styled by Royal Hairs into a smooth low ponytail, and Nelly’s makeup, created by Paul Glam, was in warm, earthy tones with an ombre glossy lip. She complemented her look with matching pink leather square-toe mule sandals that came with wide cross-straps, tying the entire outfit together from head to toe.

This isn’t the first time Nelly has chosen to go with green. Back in July, she wore a draped one-shoulder gown to Kolapo’s “thirsty thirty” birthday party, an off-the-shoulder piece with soft folds running down the length of the dress, captioning the throwback post, “Slick.”
Shot inside a dimly lit venue with rows of pink chairs in the background, she was in a floor-length dress with the same kind of balance she brought to this latest shoot, proof that she can carry a single colour through different settings and still make it count.

Medlin Boss Marks Her Birthday With Two Statement Looks
Celebrity stylist Medlin Boss celebrated her birthday on August 10, 2026. Known for styling Nigerian celebrities Medlin has built a strong reputation for bold fashion choices. For her birthday shoot, she turned the focus to her own style, wearing two custom looks from her brand.

Photo: Instagram/@Felix Crown
Her first look was themed “Wearable Art.” She wore a custom-made gown from her own luxury fashion line, Medlin Couture Collection. The strapless mermaid-style dress splits into two distinct sections. The right side had a colour transition from deep red to bright orange and yellow, extending upward into a bold, petal-like shoulder piece. In stark contrast, the left side was made from deep royal blue and purple fabrics, dropping down into heavy, full ruffles that frame a high thigh-slit and formed a flowing train.

Her hair was done into a smooth, neat finger-wave updo styled closely to her scalp. Her makeup by Tolufelix Mua was done in warm tones with a nude glossy lip. She kept her accessories minimal opting for stud earrings, a silver chain necklace, metallic bangles, and simple rings. She completed her look with a pair of open-toe, coral-orange strappy heeled sandals. Photography was handled by Felix Crown.

For her second look, she wore a custom, black double-breasted cropped pantsuit set from her brand. The tailored blazer featured floor-length split cape sleeves that draped around her body, layered over a white collared shirt with oversized pointed white cuffs extending past her hands. It was paired with matching high-waisted, floor-length, wide-leg trousers. To keep a clean look against the dramatic collar and cuffs, her hair was styled by Hairbybukks into a razor-sharp, smooth low bun updo. For accessories, she used strong metallic pieces, tucking a heavy-link silver chain necklace under her shirt collar and wearing matching multi-tiered silver drop earrings that complemented the blazer’s lapels. For footwear, she wore a pair of silver pointed-toe heeled pumps that perfectly tied the silver accents together. Tolufelix Mua handled her makeup, while Felux Crown Photographed the shoot.

Alongside the photos, Medlin shared a heartfelt caption thanking God for another year, describing herself as a woman carried by grace and surrounded by beauty and love. She captioned one of the sets “Vogue +1”.
