Ciara, Oxlade and Moliy Team Up on “Nice n’ Sweet” A Smooth Blend of R&B and Afrobeats

Published

on

Ciara’s latest release, “Nice n’ Sweet,” arrives with the kind of clarity that shows a deliberate new phase. Featured on the CiCi deluxe edition, the track pairs her R&B foundations with a lively Afro-influenced sound shaped by Oxlade and Moliy, two artists who have created a unique spaces within African pop’s today’s sound. The collaboration pulls three different style into one direction, resulting in a song that feels good in its mix.

Produced by Shyne and Lucky Jones, the single uses a warm beat and smooth melodic patterns that give the song its rhythm. Ciara’s delivery stays soft, setting the tone before Oxlade steps in with his smooth, instantly recognisable tone. Moliy adds a lightness that rounds out the trio’s chemistry, creating a mix that feels global without without drifting.

Lyrically, the track plays with intimacy and rhythm, reflecting the playful lines that have already drew interest online. It’s an easy listen on the surface, though there’s a clear intention in how each voice is arranged in parts, lending the record a clean result that suits its cross-cultural identity.

Beyond the sound, “Nice n’ Sweet” marks another point in Ciara’s ongoing connection to African music, a relationship she has been exploring more openly in recent years. Oxlade’s inclusion reflects his continued rise among international audiences, while for Moliy, the feature signals another significant step in her expanding path.

Victony’s ‘SLICK Remix’ Video Featuring Summer Walker and Don Toliver: Review

Published

Victony has released the official video for the SLICK remix, and he shot it in a locker room and an indoor pool. The video was uploaded at midnight on October 16 and lasted for 2 minutes 31 seconds. Only Victony and Summer Walker appeared on screen. Don Toliver was on the song but not in the visuals.

The video started in a bright locker room full of wooden lockers. Women in matching light blue bodysuits dance around, with blue and white striped towels thrown on the benches. Later, the settings shifts to a tiled pool with gold railings, where women in blue swimsuits and swim caps posed in the water.

Victony appeared at the poolside in a black jacket with thin white stripes on the front and sunglasses. He stood still against the blue wall while the swimmers stretched out beside him. In another scene, he wore a shiny black leather jacket with glossy trousers while singing and making little gestures with his hands.

Summer Walker appeared in the darkest scenes. She leaned on a railing in a glittery two-piece under a sheer outfit, with only black behind her. In another shot, she wore a rust-coloured one-shoulder gown with big hoop earrings and bangles. The light hit her from the side, so half of her body stayed in shadow.

The dancing in the locker room and at the poolside suited SLICK, an Afrobeats song made for the dance floor. Summer Walker’s scenes, lit low and dark, suited her calm R&B delivery. The song came out in July 2026 and stayed at number one on Nigeria’s Official Top 100 for three weeks, Victony’s first solo song to do that. It also spent 13 weeks at number one on the UK Official Afrobeats Chart and reached number 2 on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart.

A good weekend playlist needs songs for different moods, whether you’re winding down after a long week or getting ready to head out. This week’s picks include a new collaboration between FOLA and Davido, Duncan Mighty’s link-up with Halver, and fresh releases from Ayo Maff, Zinoleesky, Blaqbonez and Asake. Each track brings something different, from a familiar take on romance to songs built around everyday struggles and lively rhythms.

Malaria – Ayo Maff ft. Zinoleesky

Love is the subject of “Malaria,” but Ayo Maff and Zinoleesky approach it through an unusual comparison. Released on September 24, 2026, the song likens falling in love to catching an infection, presenting romance as something that can take hold of a person and become difficult to ignore.

The midtempo street-pop production leaves room for both singers to bring their individual styles to the track. Ayo Maff delivers his verses in a deeper tone, while Zinoleesky adds a more melodic touch to the chorus. Their different vocal approaches give the song its character, with the hook providing a memorable centrepiece.

Ikebe 3000 – Blaqbonez ft. Asake

Blaqbonez reunites with Asake on “Ikebe 3000,” released on October 2, 2026. The pair previously collaborated on “Chanel,” and their latest release brings them together again ahead of Blaqbonez’s forthcoming project, NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME.

Punchy percussion and lively melodies drive the track, while the repeated chorus gives it an easy rhythm to follow. Blaqbonez takes a melodic approach to his delivery, and Asake adds his recognisable vocals to the mix. The result is a lively record suited to parties, social gatherings and moments when a playlist needs more energy.

Hustler – Halver ft. Duncan Mighty

Halver teams up with Duncan Mighty on “Hustler,” released on October 8, 2026. The song focuses on the effort it takes to earn a living, with financial pressure and the sacrifices involved in pursuing personal goals shaping its message.

Its drill-inspired hip-hop foundation sets it apart from the other releases on this list. Traditional African instrumentation adds another layer to the production, while Duncan Mighty’s presence connects the track to the sound associated with the Port Harcourt singer.

2am in Toronto – FOLA ft. Davido

“2am in Toronto” appears as the third track on FOLA’s sophomore album, 9, released on October 9, 2026. The 14-track project gives the song a place within a larger body of work, but the collaboration with Davido is one of its main attractions.

Romance takes centre stage as FOLA delivers the song with his melodic vocals, while Davido adds his own style to the record. The pairing suits the song’s love-focused theme, making it a natural fit for late-night listening or a playlist built around romantic Afrobeats.
