The #MeetTheDapsons26 traditional wedding was highly anticipated. This is a couple that has made every step of their wedding journey its own event, from the proposal, to the pre-wedding shoots, and the civil ceremony. So when March 11 arrived, guests were eagerly anticipating the day. Family, friends, and guests packed the venue in blue and purple, the colours Simi and Femi chose for the day.

Simi wore a blush pink gown designed by Prudential Gabriel with green geometric embroidery down the front and dramatic fan-like sleeves. Femi matched her in a pink agbada with the same green detailing by HRH Bespoke Imperial. Both styled by Emmanuel Goodnews, coordinating details. The bridesmaids were split into two groups: heavily beaded turquoise with fringe, and deep royal purple with structured necklines.

Purple Speedy was one of the attendees. She wore a sky blue sequined gown with a structured corset bodice, floral appliqué, long fringe at the waist, and a rounded blue gele tied high. Hawa Magaji arrived wearing a floor-length blue gown with a turquoise-trimmed sweetheart neckline. The top half had a textured pleated finish and the skirt was covered in rhinestone and beadwork all the way down. Hilda Baci wore a halter-neck corset gown that started light blue at the top and shifted into deep blue and green beadwork going down. The bodice had blue lace embroidery with a sweetheart neckline and a small white off-shoulder tulle detail on each side. The skirt was fully covered in dense beads that changed colour from top to bottom, with a front slit that showed off her green designed strappy heels. When guests arrived for the launch of the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, the night became more than a charity event. Guests experience a blend of style, music, and culture throughout the evening. Among the many familiar faces present, one look that stood out came from Toke Makinwa.

Toke stepped out in a look inspired by Old Hollywood cinema. It was a reference to the kind of glamour seen in classic films from the 1940s and 1950s.

Toke Makinwa chose a floor length black gown with a pink off-shoulder cape that set the tone. The silhouette followed a traditional Old Hollywood structure. It hugged the upper body and hips before flowing down into a long skirt. The design itself stayed simple, which allowed the structure and fabric to carry the look.

The neckline sat neatly across the shoulders, giving the outfit a balanced shape. No detail was exaggerated. It leaned more toward the dressing style of vintage red carpet dressing where clean cuts defined the look.

Old Hollywood style rarely stops at the dress. Hair and makeup are just as important, and Makinwa clearly kept that in mind. Her hair was styled in a soft-waved waves updo. She kept her makeup neutral.

One noticeable thing about the look was the restraint in styling. Rather than layering multiple accessories, Makinwa stayed with a few carefully selected pieces. A pair of statement earrings and necklace complemented the neckline of the dress. The jewelry choice worked well because it filled the visual space near her face without making the look feel crowded.

Old Hollywood style has always been about balance. With structured gowns, defined hair, and strong makeup working together in a controlled way. Makinwa’s appearance at the event followed that formula closely.

On March 9, 2026, Tems shared photos on her Instagram when she performed with UK rapper Dave for a live performance of their hit song “Raindance.” The song became Tems’s first number one on the UK Singles Chart, so there was significant attention on the night. She captioned her post “My darling, can’t you see,” a line from the song and looking at these photos, the answer was written all over the dress.

She wore a white strapless bodycon gown with black polka dots. The fabric had a ruched finish that gave it texture.
For accessories, she went with diamond statement pieces: a thin choker at her collarbone, diamond bracelets on both wrists, and a few rings.

Her hair was styled long and wavy, falling past both shoulders. The makeup was a clean soft-glam look that included well-defined brows, smoky eye with winged eyeliner and a dark ombre lip with a deep brown liner blended into a burgundy center.
