Wizkid Opens Up: Life, Love, and the Story Behind His Tottenham Stadium Show
Wizkid Opens Up: Life, Love, and the Story Behind His Tottenham Stadium Show
Two days ago, Wizkid made a post on Instagram that caught everyone’s attention.
In his words:
“We made this documentary when life got crazy for me. Playing Tottenham Hotspur Stadium while dealing with life! Glad I get to have my amazing fans and family on this journey with me.
This is love! From a real place.”
It wasn’t just another post. It was real. Honest. You could feel the weight behind it.

A Night the World Won’t Forget
In July 2023, Wizkid became the first African artist to headline the massive Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
That night wasn’t just about the music. It was history in the making.
Over 60,000 people came out. The energy was unreal.
He performed some of his biggest hits Ojuelegba, Essence, Mood and the crowd sang every word like it was their own story.
Big names showed up to stars like Bukayo Saka and Alex Iwobi were spotted vibing in the crowd.
But behind all the lights, the cheering, and the celebrations, Wizkid was carrying something heavier. Something personal.

Behind the Scenes
From his post, it’s clear: while the world was watching a superstar, Wizkid was going through real life battles in the background.
We don’t know all the details yet, but what he shared tells us something important even the people who look like they have it all together are fighting their own battles.
And still, he showed up. Still, he gave his all. That’s strength.
The Documentary
Wizkid says they made a documentary during that time.
Not just to show the concert, but to show the real story, the wins, the struggles, the emotions.
Not just “big stages and flashy moments,” but the heart behind it all.
And honestly? That’s something the world needs to see. Not just the music legend. But the man. The human being.

Why This Matters
In a world where everyone tries to hide their struggles and only show their highlight reel, Wizkid’s honesty is refreshing.
It reminds us:
It’s okay to go through tough seasons.
It’s okay to not be “perfect.”
And it’s beautiful to keep showing up with love, even when life gets hard.
Conclusion
Wizkid’s journey is bigger than music. It’s about resilience. It’s about heart.
And most of all, it’s about staying true to yourself and to the people who love you.
We can’t wait to see the full documentary.
And when it drops, it won’t just be another story about success.
It’ll be a story about real life, real love, and real strength.
This is love. From a real place.

Burna Boy Commands the Spirit Tunnel on The Jennifer Hudson Show
Burna Boy’s entrance on The Jennifer Hudson Show carried a warmth that needed no translation. The greeting, heartfelt, captured the essence of how Burna connects with people through energy that feels both personal and national.

As he stepped out behind the curtain through the Spirit Tunnel, studio staff clapped and cheered, greeting the “African Giant” with “Ekabo,” the Yoruba word for welcome. “Ekabo! Ekabo! We got Burna Boy in the J-Hudd Tunnel-oh!” Turning what’s usually a routine celebrity entrance into a proud nod to his roots.
Dressed in a dark, finely tailored long-collared shirt with a silver lapel pin, wide-legged trousers, and his signature sunglasses, he moved steadily through the tunnel, returning smiles and gestures while acknowledging their greeting along the way.

Across social media, the clip spread fast. Many social-media users likened the reception to a homecoming while abroad, noting how the walk fused global fame with familiar warmth. For an artist who has performed on the world’s biggest stages, this simple genuine reception said something bigger: wherever Burna Boy goes, Nigeria goes with him.

Hilda’s Record-Breaking Jollof Festival
Chef Hilda Baci turned Lagos into a giant kitchen on Friday when the World Jollof Festival lit up the Eko Hotel Car Park B. Part record attempt, part cultural celebration, the event drew thousands who came to witness one of the most ambitious cooking feats ever attempted in Nigeria.

Her goal was audacious: to cook the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice ever made. A custom-built pot, six metres wide and six metres tall, was rolled in for the challenge. It was originally designed to hold 250 bags of rice. With smoke rising and the massive cauldron heating up, the crowd pressed forward, eager to see whether she could pull it off.

Among those who came to cheer her on were some of Nigeria’s familiar faces. Actress Funke Akindele and Jemima Osunde were spotted around the giant pot, offering encouragement. Dancer Kaffy joined in the excitement, while DJ Peller added to the festival’s energy. Influencers including Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Folagade Banks and Vicky James shared live updates from the ground, ensuring the spectacle reached far beyond Lagos.
After nine hours of steady cooking, Baci completed the challenge. Instead of the planned 250 bags, she managed 200. The effort produced more than 14,000 kilograms of jollof rice. Volunteers worked quickly once the food was ready, handing out over 30,000 takeaway packs to a delighted audience at no cost.

The day, however, was not without setbacks. During the weighing process, the giant pot gave way while being lifted by a crane. It collapsed under its own weight. The accident forced organisers to scale back the rice used, but Baci and her team pressed on, determined to finish. The determination drew loud cheers from the crowd, who applauded her resilience as much as her cooking.

What remains uncertain is how Guinness World Records will judge the attempt. The collapse of the pot raises questions about whether the technical requirements were fully met, and official verification is still pending.

Still, the festival itself was a triumph. Beyond the numbers and the chase for a world record, the gathering reminded everyone why jollof rice holds such a special place in Nigerian culture. It brought together thousands of people from different walks of life, from celebrities to everyday Lagosians, to share in food, music and pride.
Whether or not Guinness gives its stamp of approval, Hilda Baci has already shown that Nigerian cuisine can command a global spotlight. A pot of jollof rice, no matter how massive, can still bring people together.
